Once you have too much heat in the top of the piston bad things happen, including top ring and ringland damage (the #1 cause of hypereutectic piston failure). I have used MANY sets of KB pistons.

WHen I was on their web site, their footnotes say the dome on these pistons will need to be modified for early 289 heads. I am running World Products Windsor Jr. heads.
